In his appearance at Riverview last Friday night, comedian Jay Black occasionally got laughs but didn't quite achieve enough comedic chemistry with the audience to leave much of an impression.
Black, a comedian who travels mostly on the college circuit, was a tall guy with dark hair and glasses who often got stuck in a few uncomfortable gestures -- leaning over as if to scratch his knee, or his arm outstretched with the heel of his hand jabbing up.

Flashy advertisements boast a cast of Sylvester Stallone (who wrote the screenplay alongside Dave Callaham and also directed the film), Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as UFC fighter Randy Couture and former WWE wrestler Steve Austin.

Charges were dropped in the cases of the four students arrested last spring while on a Benedictine University sponsored trip to Florida, according to Polk County, Fla., State Prosecutor's Office.
John DeMartino, James Callahan, Kevin Crowley and Shay Wagner's first trial was postponed in April, and all four students were placed in pretrial intervention, according to the prosecutor's office.
